The Stuka is one of the most unique airplanes of World War Two. It helped in the 'Blitzkrieg' against Poland in 1939-40. The plane was designed as a dive bomber and fitted with a dive siren on the landing gear. When the plane went into a dive, the siren would scream and those on the ground knew they were in trouble. By the end of the war the plane was outdated but it had been but to good use in the beginning of the war.

I became interested in this model in the summer of 99'. I had wanted to build a large plastic model and this one certainly met the criteria. Work started that fall and continued on and off until the final push when school ended. The Stuka was completed then. The paint was airbrushed and I used tape for masking. Seams were filled using squadron putty and CA glue was used. The swastika decal on the tail was homemade using white decal film and a copy machine. The Stuka turned out to be a very challenging model but very rewarding.
