The Harrier is a very unique fighter aircraft in that it can take off and land vertically. Developed between the U.S. and England, the Osprey is the only other aircraft in the ballpark. The Marines use the Harrier as a standard weapon to protect invasions. England uses the harrier extensively and has several carriers built just for them.
This model is from the 1/24 scale Airfix kit. The assembly went smooth enough except that the model isn't exactly correct for the USMC version. The main problem with these large AIrfix kits is that a lot of gap filling seems to be necessary. I decided to light the model and motorize it. It now has wing tip lights, top and bottom strobes, taxi light on front gear, and a spinning fan.
